Socks size chart

You can use this chart to choose your sock size or to knit socks. The sizes are valid for women and men - it depends more on whether your feet are slimmer or sturdier than normal.

Please note that the tables are always indicative. There are many other differences in feet than the length of the sole of the foot. Socks are often made of a stretchy material, unlike shoes, so they shorten lengthwise while they thicken widthwise.

There are slender men's feet, and sturdy women's feet. People with narrow/slender feet may consider a smaller sock size, while people with thicker feet may consider a larger sock size.

Foot sole length, cm Sock size (= shoe size)
29-30.5 45-47
27-28.5 42-44
25-26.5 39-41
23-24.5 36-38

Shrinkage

The Hukkasocks we sell - like many other socks - can shrink by about 10% when washed. Hukkasocks have taken this into account when designing their sizes, so you don't have to worry about it.

Should I choose a larger or smaller sock?

If you are in two minds, the bigger one is the safer option.

  • It is possible to shrink larger socks in the washing machine and, if necessary, in the dryer.
  • Socks that are too small can make your toes feel cramped, which can lead to sweating, discomfort, and even foot misalignment.
  • A small sock can wear out more easily because when the sock stretches on the foot, it comes into contact with the ground/shoe over a larger surface area.

If you are looking for loose socks, sleep socks or socks for lounging around the house - or you prefer looser socks, feel free to choose a larger size .

The Hukkasocks we sell are designed to fit snugly, so they stay in place, don't roll, rub or come off, and feel comfortable all the time.

Sock shank

Below is a table of the approximate lengths of the bamboo Hukkasocks with stems that we sell. The length is measured with the sock on the foot and the stem stretched up the leg, but not stretched to its maximum length.

If you are a knitter, you can of course determine the length of the stocking shaft according to these instructions.
